Telecommunications Overview
In both our NameConnector® and ConnectorVi services, Parlance applies its extensive telecommunications expertise and a flexible platform to ensure the successful management of calls in your infrastructure.
Call Handling
The local element of our Connector Services consists of a server that connects to your telephone switch. In a typical installation, to the switch, a port on our service looks like a basic phone. When transferring a call to the recognized destination, our service simply does a flash hook, enters the extension, listens for ringing, and hangs up. An extensive set of call directives enables our service to perform a variety of call tasks including:
- Entering account codes for call accounting
- Entering PINs for pagers, voicemail, etc.
- Navigating automated attendants and IVRs to connect a caller to a destination
- Using feature codes for tasks such as network transfers, ACD login/logout, and more
Quite frankly, if you can dial it on your telephone, we can connect you.
Modem Use
Each Connector service unit, in addition to call management ports, requires a port for a modem. The modem is configured to automatically call Parlance if the system experiences any difficulties. Also, Parlance uses this modem capability to download new software releases and collect statistics from the system. To support these activities, the modem port requires a DID number and outbound dialing capability.
Supported PBX's
Connector integrates with virtually any switch and can dial any destination. The combination of highly configurable integration parameters, managed transfers using call progress analysis, and programmable dialing instructions by destination type make it easy to add our Connector services to your telecommunications environment.
Parlance's Connector services successfully integrate with numerous telephony switch types, whether ACD, Centrex (Class 5), KSU, PBX, VoIP, or VoIP hybrids. NameConnector service units are currently managing calls for companies using switches from the following manufacturers:
