System Details

Parlance delivers NameConnector® service using a reliable, quality assured hardware and software system.  Each NameConnector service unit integrates into your existing voice infrastructure.  It resides on premise, and is available to callers anytime, from any phone, internal to the enterprise or on the public network.

Scalability
NameConnector system architecture is highly scalable, providing an economical call routing solution for organizations of any size.  The basic installation begins with 4-ports and up to 500 names.  From this footprint, NameConnector can scale to an unlimited number of ports and tens of thousands of names.

What enables such scale is the NameConnector "cluster."  A cluster is simply a collection of two or more NameConnector service units, each using the same Names Registry which is managed from a single manager unit.  Cluster units may be installed at a single site or distributed geographically across multiple sites.  Clusters enable the following primary capabilities:

  • Allows the installation of an unlimited number of ports.
  • Provides redundancy to eliminate service outages for mission-critical applications.
  • Enables the distribution of ports among more than one site to achieve voice network routing cost savings.

Clusters, if required for call capacity, are typically small, since, due to the brevity and consistency of the caller interaction, 4 ports can handle more than 200 calls per hour at 1% blocking.

Hardware
NameConnector service units are built on a conventional server running a Microsoft Windows operating system.  The basic installation includes a 1U rack-mount server and, if required, a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and UPS.  The server includes a modem for remote operations and a telephony card supporting either analog or digital connectivity to the telephony switch.

Parlance provides continual monitoring and upgrading of this hardware for the life of your service!
